MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) Department

Stormwater runoff is a primary source of pollutants which flow into our ditches, streams, drains, and ultimately our lakes. Those pollutants include but are not limited to dirt/sediment, oils, chemicals, pathogens, and trash, all of which adversely affect those receiving waters. In implementing the US EPA and Indiana Department of Environmental Management laws and regulations, the Lake County MS4 program is designed to protect and improve that water quality in our community, benefiting our public health and the environment.
