Overview

First day a declaration of candidacy may be filed by a Democratic or Republican candidate to seek their party's nomination at the municipal primary election. Also the first day to file a declaration of candidacy for nomination by a Democratic, Libertarian, or Republican Party town convention in a "small" town having a population of less than 3,500 that does not hold a primary election, and the first day an independent or minor party candidate may file a petition of nomination with a county voter registration office for the municipal election for verification of petition signatures.
